The 4 images are in my opinion examples of powerful illustrations. Numbers 1 and 4 use the street as a canvas, playing with stencilling, colour, humour and what´s already there to create something quite poetic, specially in number 4.
Number 3 is a beautiful representation of Alice in Wonderland, my favourite book. Alice´s skirt becomes a mushroom and Alice herself is a stylised fashion drawing, the skirt is dominates the picture and I imagine what it would be like to have a silk pleated skirt that looks like a mushrooom. This summerises fashion for me, fashion gives me the chance to connect with a dreamworld, my own private Oz, Wonderland, that I access every time I dress up or design a piece.
Number 2 is an old archive collection by Saint Laurent, I love the way they pinned the fabrics to the illustrations, it reminds me of the care everything is done with in fashion, even if the end product does not look neat, there is a great deal of work that goes behind the scenes.
